Welcome

WASOT-UK is a not-for-profit organisation registered in the United Kingdom and Channel Islands. Its main objective is to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and its social, economic and cultural impact in the developing world and try to to tackle health inequalities in these  communities. WASOT-UK was founded following a three-month HIV/AIDS cross-sectional study among 15-25 year olds in a village community in western Kenya.

Working with OGRA Foundation (our principal partner), Wasot-UK's aims and objectives are:

Creating greater openness about HIV/AIDS among individuals and within families and  communities through education, capacity building and poverty eradication

Encourage more people to test for HIV, inform sexual partners about the results, and prevent further infections

Better protect people not infected from becoming infected

Increase acceptance, care, treatment and support for people and families affected by HIV/AIDS, and

Improve epidemiological surveillance of HIV and AIDS.

WASOT-UK specifically identifies possible foster homes for these children, counsels the would be foster parents, provides financial support to the foster families through food distribution programme, and gives basic medical support to fight opportunistic infections for those living with HIV/AIDS.
